Mrs M developed cellulitis in her left leg. She had pre-existing medical problems which limited her mobility. The nursing staff were made aware of this upon her arrival at hospital. A waterlow risk assessment was carried out, which is used to assess the risk of pressure ulcers. The risk assessment was miscalculated by the nursing staff.
As a result of the miscalculation, Mrs M was not provided with a pressure relieving mattress, nor was she deemed a priority to be seen by a tissue viability nurse.
Livingstone Brown's clinical negligence solicitors were able to help Mrs M by providing her the most recognised experts in the field to support her clinical negligence claim which resulted in us pursuing her clinical negligence action in court.
Mrs M was successful in settling her case for a substantial five figure sum in settlement.
